Ferris State University are back on campus and have had a full week of classes to kick off the new semester.
This week, week two of the semester, Ferris will be hosting its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on the Big Rapids campus. The celebration begins on Monday, Jan. 19 and runs through Thursday, Jan. 22. Highlights from the week are included below. For more information about the celebration, read the news release, here.

Monday, Jan. 19
Martin Luther King Day – No Classes
11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Ward Hall Basement –Tunnel of Oppression Exhibit
4 p.m., Location will be announced – 29th Annual Freedom March
7 to 8:30 p.m., Williams Auditorium – “Culture Shock” 5 Star presentation
Tuesday, Jan. 20
9 a.m. to 3 p.m., FLITE, Room 438 – Documentary Series “Many Rivers to Cross”
11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Ward Hall Basement –Tunnel of Oppression Exhibit
5 to 8 p.m., University Recreation Center – MLK Charity Basketball
Donations of non-perishable food items and essentials will be collected to benefit local community organizations.
