Residence Hall Association to Host Sibs and Kids Weekend of Fun

Ferris State UniversityFerris State University’s Residence Hall Association is sponsoring its annual Sibs and Kids Weekend, “Push Start to Play,” beginning Friday, Feb. 27 with check-in from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Rock Café and concluding on Sunday, March 1.

The cost of registration per child or sibling is $35. The registration cost includes a T-shirt, a pair of hockey tickets for the Ferris student and their guest, meals at The Rock Café and weekend festivities. Participants that register by noon on Friday, Feb. 13 will be guaranteed a T-shirt or hockey tickets.

“The purpose of this event is to provide some really fun activities for younger siblings and friends as they visit their older Ferris students and see what campus is like,” said Marci Chou, Miller/Ward Hall director. “We try to cater to a much younger crowd through some of our older siblings, mostly ages 6 to 15.”

Activities throughout the weekend include, but are not limited to: A hockey game against Bemidji State University, inflatables, video games, prizes, giveaways, fun with mascot Brutus, and movies.

The tentative schedule for Sibs and Kids weekend is as follows:

Friday, Feb. 27

4 to 7 p.m., The Rock Café - check in

7 p.m., Ewigleben Ice Arena – hockey game

Following the hockey game, Ewigleben Ice Arena – open skate

Saturday, Feb. 28

9:30 to 12 p.m., Brophy/McNerney Hall Lobby – Pictures with Brutus, video game themed obstacle course, video games and other games.

4 to 5 p.m., Brophy/McNerney Hall – individual hall activities

8 p.m., Brophy/McNerney Hall – Movie “Wreck it Ralph.” Popcorn, beverages and snacks will be provided.

Sunday, March 1

7 a.m. to 12 p.m., The Rock Café - Breakfast
