More Than 1,000 Students to Graduate at December Commencement Ceremonies

Ferris State UniversityFerris State University is set to host commencement ceremonies for more than 1,000 students at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19.

Of the students who will graduate, in Fall 2015, approximately 660 will participate in the two ceremonies hosted in Jim Wink Arena of the Ewigleben Sports Complex on the Big Rapids campus. This fall’s commencement speaker is Phil Middleton, a professor in the College of Arts, Sciences and Education and a past recipient of Ferris’ Distinguished Teacher Award.

Doors open for the 10 a.m. ceremony at 9 a.m. The morning ceremony honors graduates from the colleges of Arts, Sciences and Education, Education and Human Services, and Engineering Technology. Doors open for the 1:30 p.m. ceremony at 12:30 p.m. The afternoon session highlights graduates of the colleges of Business and Health Professions.

The Doctorate in Community College Leadership, Kendall College of Art and Design, Michigan College of Optometry and College of Pharmacy host commencement ceremonies in May.

All students who plan to participate in this fall’s commencement may request up to seven e-tickets. E-Tickets are required for all commencement ceremonies, with exceptions for children 2 years old and younger. No extra tickets are distributed by the Commencement Office or individual college commencement coordinators. Lost tickets will not be replaced.
