Kevin Lyman, Founder of Vans Warped Tour, Coming to Ferris, April 16

Kevin LymanThe Music Industry Management Association is bringing music industry innovator Kevin Lyman to Ferris State University for an "all things industry" discussion in College of Business, Room 111 on Thursday, April 16 at 7 p.m.

Lyman's production company and brand strategy firm is 4Fini Inc. His April 16 talk will focus on creative partnership, effective branding and entrepreneurship.

Lyman is best known as the founder of Vans Warped Tour, which has toured nationally since 1995 and helped launch acts such as Katy Perry, No Doubt, Blink182 and the Black Eyed Peas. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, Warped Tour is the longest-running tour in North America. Lyman is also the founder of nationally renowned festivals like the Rockstar Mayhem Festival and Down from the Mountain Tour.

When he is not curating festivals, Lyman serves on the board of directors for Saint Archer Brewery and the LA County Fairplex. In 2005, he established the charitable Unite the United Foundation in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Lyman received the Billboard Touring Awards Humanitarian of the Year in 2009 and was honored at the Grammy/MusiCares MAP Fund 2011.
