Ferris State University is hosting a Core Value Summit to discuss the meaning of the
university’s core values and to give students opportunities to learn more about who
they are as leaders – including their individual leadership type. The Summit takes
place on Friday, Nov. 7 in the IRC Connector from 3 to 7 p.m.
The Core Value Summit will consist of six concurrent workshops that will be hosted by familiar Ferris faces, including Leroy Wright, dean of Student Life; David Pilgrim, vice president of Diversity and Inclusion; and Ron Snead, a Ferris alumnus, a former student activist and a former chair of the university’s Board of Trustees; Jessica Cruz, Hispanic/Latino Cultural Center; Stephanie Thomson, associate professor of Humanities; and Nicholas Campau, associate dean of Student Life.
Students can attend individually or represent a student organizations to receive a certificate of completion. Organizations and individuals will have opportunities to learn about collaboration to strengthen events, maximizing campus resources and the benefits of networking with other student groups. Student organizations need three representatives in attendance and can apply the certificate to their Five Star Portfolio.
The evening includes dinner as well as raffles for prizes.
