More than 1,000 students will receive Ferris State University degrees during commencement
ceremonies at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13.
Of the students who will graduate, in Fall 2014, approximately 600 will participate in the two ceremonies that will take place in the Ewigleben Sports Complex on Ferris’ Big Rapids campus. This fall’s commencement speakers are the 2014 co-recipients of the Distinguished Teacher Award: College of Arts, Sciences and Education faculty members Gary Huey, a professor of History, and Jennifer Johnson, an associate professor of Geography. Doors open for the 10 a.m. ceremony at 9 a.m. The morning ceremony honors graduates from the colleges of Business and Health Professions. Doors open for the 1:30 p.m. ceremony at 12:30 p.m. The afternoon ceremony recognizes graduates from the colleges of Arts, Sciences and Education, Education and Human Services, and Engineering Technology.
The Doctorate in Community College Leadership, Kendall College of Art and Design, Michigan College of Optometry and College of Pharmacy only host commencement ceremonies in May.
All students who plan to participate in this fall’s commencement will receive eight tickets. No extra tickets are distributed by the Commencement Office or the individual college commencement coordinators. Lost tickets will not be replaced. Guests who do not have tickets may watch the ceremony via live stream on the Commencement Office website or on a large screen from an alternate viewing room inside of the Ewigleben Sports Complex.
Tickets are required to attend all Big Rapids commencement ceremonies.
