Ferris to Host Spiritual Exploration Fair

spiritual explorationThe Spiritual Exploration Fair at Ferris State University is a collaborative effort based upon the work of people from the Office of the Dean of Student Life, Wesley House, the Office of International Advising, My Sister’s Keeper, and Student Leadership and Activities.

The fair is set for Friday, Sept. 9 in the Rankin Student Center Dome Room from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is free and open to the public. The event’s primary goal is to help students with their spiritual development. This fair will be set up as resource event with tables hosted by spiritual student organizations from campus, local spiritual centers and places of worship, and underrepresented spiritual centers and places of worship from outside of Big Rapids.

“Nothing like this has been done at Ferris in the past, and we’re excited to be able to offer this unique opportunity to our students,” said Nicholas Campau, coordinator of Student Life at Ferris.

Campau and fellow event organizers are hopeful that the fair will spur students to become better global citizens by enhancing their understanding of different religions and worship practices. Organizers also hope that students develop a greater sense of community spirit.

Funding for this event was provided by Student Affairs, the Office of International Advising and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
