Stakely Appointed as Ferris' Transfer Services Center Director

Deedee StakelyDeedee Stakely has been named Transfer Services Center Director at Ferris State University. The announcement was made by William Potter, associate provost for retention and student services.

Stakely most recently served as director of the Early College at Benton Harbor-based Lake Michigan College where she was on staff for 17 years. She has also provided educational consulting services related to partnerships between secondary and postsecondary partners. She has a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Organizational Development from Spring Arbor University. Stakely currently is enrolled in Ferris State University’s Doctorate in Community College Leadership program.

“I am delighted to announce that Deedee Stakely has accepted this appointment as the Transfer Services Center director at Ferris. I would like to thank search committee members Yolonda Barnes, Shari Chamberlain, Dr. Dave Frank, Patrick Kamau, Tracy Powers and Joan Totten for their efforts in this search,” Potter said. “Thanks also to the many staff members who participated in the on-campus interviews and provided feedback to the committee. Please join us as we welcome Deedee to Ferris to initiate the new Transfer Services Center.”

Stakely begins her Ferris duties on Friday, Dec. 9.
