Bloodborne Pathogen Post Exposure Process

Faculty, Staff, Student Employees and Students who require a Post Exposure Evaluation shall follow one of the following four processes listed below. The specific process followed shall be selected based on:

Status - Is the exposed individual a member of the Faculty, Staff, Student Employee or Student body at the time of the potential exposure?

AND

Location - Where did the potential exposure occur, on an FSU campus or not on an FSU campus?

Please choose from the following options below based on the type of incident that occurred:

-Faculty, Staff and Student Employees who received a potential or real exposure in the course of performing their job duties while ON an FSU campus.

-Faculty, Staff and Student Employees who received a potential or real exposure in the course of performing their job duties while NOT on an FSU campus.

-Students who received a potential or real exposure in the course of performing their internships, clinicals, practicums or other course work studies while ON an FSU campus.

-Students who received a potential or real exposure in the course of performing their internships, clinicals, practicums or other course work studies while NOT on an FSU campus.

 

When Birkam Health Center is closed, seek medical assistance from the nearest hospital or medical care facility. Place a follow-up call to Birkam as soon as they become available at (231)591-2614 to determine the next course of action that should be taken.
