Ferris State women's golf team’s academic performance among the best in the nation

The Ferris State University women's golf team, which reached the NCAA Division II National Championships for the first time in 16 years, has been recognized for its classroom success, ranking among the nation's top squads in the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar Team GPA Award rankings.
The WGCA announced its Division II top 25 squads and the Bulldogs finished 12th overall on the list with a 3.805 cumulative team grade point average in 2024-25.
The Bulldogs joined Davenport University as the lone Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools to place among the top 25 schools in Division II.
This past season, under head coach Sam Stark's direction, the Bulldog women's golf team claimed runner-up honors in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships and went on to place among the top five teams at the NCAA East Regional Championships, punching their ticket to the D2 National Championships for the first time since 2009.
The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches.
The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition.
Today, the WGCA represents more than 750 coaches throughout the United States and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
