Ferris State STUNT team dominant in historic program debut, topping Michigan, Northern Kentucky

Ferris State STUNT team dominated in its historic debut on Sunday, shutting out the University of Michigan and topping Northern Kentucky University before an energetic crowd inside Jim Wink Arena.

Competing for the first time as an official varsity-level program, Ferris State started the day with a 22-0 shutout of the U of M before closing its day with a 31-13 win over Northern Kentucky during its "Pink Out" Tournament.

It was a statement day for the coaching staff and 36 Bulldog student-athletes, including 25 freshmen, comprising the newest Ferris State Athletics program.

"I am so extremely proud of this team. We literally started from zero, from ground zero, and they embraced everything that my coaching staff and I have given to them, and I could not be prouder," STUNT head coach Perrmella Harris said. "They continue to want to be better, and you're just going to see more greatness from them because of their attitudes and because of who they are as athletes."

The contests were part of the Bulldogs' first regular-season action showcasing the fast-paced, head-to-head STUNT format while celebrating the program's debut.

With its first games in the books, Ferris State will turn its attention to competition on the road. The Bulldogs head to an event at Purdue University - Northwest on Saturday, Feb. 14 in Hammond, Indiana.
