BIG RAPIDS, Mich. —

Ferris State University women’s basketball’s Kadyn Blanchard was named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Midwest Region Team, as the team reflects on another historical season.

Blanchard, the senior guard from Freeland, was one of five standouts from the Midwest Region to earn First Team All-Region honors as announced this month.

Sports information directors from NCAA Division II Midwest Region schools and conferences selected the All-Region teams, with the process sponsored by the NCAA DII Conference Commissioners Association. The honors list concludes with All-American selections announced later in the month.

This season, Blanchard helped lead the Bulldogs to a 26-7 record with averages of nearly 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per contests on a 45% shooting clip from the floor. The stat line helped her become the all-time leading scorer in program history, as she finished with 1,978 total points in a Bulldog uniform.

Blanchard was named as the 2025-26 GLIAC Player of the Year this season, making her the first Ferris State player to be tapped as such in 25 years. The honor was also backed by an All-GLIAC First Team nod.

Blanchard received her historical honors just before No. 16 Ferris State went into the first round of the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament this past Friday (March 13). The season came to an end after a 70-59 loss to Missouri – St. Louis in a neutral site contest.

The Bulldogs tied a school record for most wins in a season. Ferris State also advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in five seasons and the ninth time in program history – including an NCAA DII semifinal appearance in the 2023-24 season.

Despite the setback, the season highlighted the illustrious careers of six seniors, including Blanchard, Mia Riley, Elle Irwin, Mya Hiram, Emma Schierbeek and Ally Schultz, who finished their careers as the all-time winningest senior class in Bulldog history.
