Perez, a Business Data Analytics major from Ecuador, had a big day for the Bulldogs in Ferris State’s 5-2 road setback to nationally ranked Indianapolis on Feb. 1.

Perez beat the nation's No. 21-ranked player at two singles, posting a 7-6, 6-3 triumph to get Ferris State on the board. He also teamed up with Kacper Pasielak for a 7-6 win at three doubles in the contest. The outing marked the spring regular-season debut for the Bulldogs.

After garnering the league's weekly player of the week crown, Perez also helped the Bulldogs over the weekend to a pair of home wins at the Ferris State Racquet and Fitness Center. Ferris State beat Spring Arbor University 7-0 score in the home opener on Feb. 7 before topping the University of Findlay by a 5-2 score in regional action on Feb. 8.

Ferris State continues a five-match homestand with three additional home matches this coming week versus Walsh University on Feb. 13, Calvin University on Feb. 14 and McKendree University on Feb. 15 in Big Rapids.
