AHCA honors 13 Ferris State hockey players honored for academic success

Thirteen members of the Ferris State University hockey team were honored as Krampade All-American Scholars by the American Hockey Coaches Association for their success in the classroom.
Student-athletes must have attained a 3.75 grade point average for each semester and had to appear in 40 percent of the team's games to qualify for the honor. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goalies.
Ferris State's Nic Belpedio, Gavin Best, Holden Doell, Hobie Hedquist, Logan Heroux, Christopher Lie, Martin Lundberg, Carter Rapalje, Noah Rupprecht, Tyler Schleppe, Jack Silich, Mason West and Josh Zary were recognized by the AHCA for this past season.
The entire list consists of 723 Division I men and women. Ferris State’s 13 recipients are ranked among the highest in the country.
The award is sponsored by Krampade, a Lincoln, Nebraska-based company focused on mitigating and preventing cramp formation.
The AHCA includes professional, junior, high school, and youth hockey coaches, as well as referees, administrators, sales representatives, journalists, and fans.
