BIG RAPIDS, Mich. —

For the second consecutive year, Ferris State University softball first baseman Alexis Kozlowski, a sophomore from Gaylord, has been named to the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Midwest Region First Team.

The all-region squads were announced by the NFCA based on voting conducted by members in the national coaches' organization.

Last year, Kozlowski, an Elementary Education major, became the first Bulldog softball player to earn NFCA all-region first team honors since both Amanda Harrington and Holly Bruntjens claimed the same distinction in 2009.

Kozlowski was also named to both the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team this year for the second consecutive campaign.

Kozlowski was one of only three GLIAC student-athletes to be recognized as a NFCA All-Midwest Region First Team selection this season.

NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted for the teams. All the honorees are now eligible for selection to the 2025 NFCA Division II All-America squads.

This season, Kozlowski has played a major role in leading Ferris State back to the NCAA Division II Tournament for the first time since 2013. She has compiled a team-high 54 hits and 42 RBI's with a squad-best .362 batting average in 48 games to date. Additionally, she has tallied six doubles, five triples and four home runs while drawing 19 walks in the season.

The NFCA is the professional organization for fastpitch softball coaches. Known for its highly regarded coaches polls and All-Region awards, the NFCA also educates and supports softball coaches on a variety of different levels: from podcasts to awards, to in-person events and the National Convention.

The Bulldogs have currently won 28 games this year, which are the program's most in a decade, and will face Findlay in an elimination game on Friday, May 9 at the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament in University Center.
