Champions and scholars: Ferris State student-athletes earn GLIAC All-Academic and All-Academic Excellence awards

Ferris State University builds champions – and scholars.
Nearly 200 Ferris State student-athletes achieved Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Academic and All-Academic Excellence Team honors for the 2024-25 campaign as announced by the league office.
The awards follow an announcement earlier in the week that Ferris State golfer Kamryn Shannon and tennis player Erik Kovacs earned the GLIAC Commissioner’s Award for academic and athletic excellence.
The Bulldog student-athletes represent 16 of Ferris State's 17 varsity programs, excluding NCAA Division I men's ice hockey, which competes in the CCHA. Including hockey, nearly half of Ferris State’s 400 student-athletes were honored for their academic success.
To earn the recognition, student-athletes must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season, not a freshman or a first year transfer student.
All-Academic Teams are comprised of student-athletes who meet hat criteria and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 to 3.49. Academic Excellence Teams are comprised of student athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 to 4.0.
The Bulldogs finished the 2024-25 athletics season with student-athletes featured on the fall, winter or spring all-academic teams based on the sport.
More than 2,000 all-academic honors were bestowed on student-athletes from across the GLIAC.
