Ferris State’s One Day for Dawgs day of giving is set for April 9; strong previous effort raised over $289,000 to support students

One Day for Dawgs, Ferris State University’s annual day of giving, is an opportunity for all members of the university community to get involved and support causes they care about.
One Day for Dawgs 2025 is scheduled for Wednesday, April 9. The 24-hour fundraising event empowers Bulldogs everywhere to support the causes they care most about.
The Ferris State community last year came together and greatly exceeded a bold goal, raising an astounding $289,053 for scholarships, programs, and student needs.
One Day for Dawgs has grown into a tradition that empowers collective action and supports the continued success of Ferris State and its students.
The excitement and anticipation for the day of giving builds each year with new campus activities, participating causes, and donor challenges added to the event.
Kristine Workman, director of Leadership Giving and Associate Director of the Ferris Foundation, said One Day for Dawgs represents a great opportunity to engage the university community.
“One Day for Dawgs is a perfect way for anyone to get involved and see the awesome impact of philanthropy,” she said. “We are especially excited to connect with our community here in Michigan and beyond about growing support for key initiatives that enable Ferris State to continue leading the way in academic and athletic success.”
Funds raised through One Day for Dawgs support scholarships, programs, athletics, and student needs.
The 2024 campaign garnered tremendous support from the Ferris State family. Donors and volunteers showcased their Bulldog spirit, supporting a wide range of causes across the university while driving the creation of the campaign’s eight giving day challenges and over 20 different matching gifts.
Top team fundraising efforts included the Bulldog Women's Soccer Program, Bulldog Hockey Team, and the Risk Management and Insurance Program, all raising more than $10,000 toward their goals.
“We are thrilled with the success of the last few years events,” said Brandi Behrenwald, executive director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving. “The support for students and programs is a true reflection of the community’s commitment to investing in future generations of Bulldogs.”
Students from many decades participated in 2024, ranging from alumni from the class of 1950 to current students. The support of alumni across generations is critical to sustaining and growing the programs that make Ferris State a leader in higher education.
Behrenwald said Ferris State will look to continue growing participation and excitement for giving day efforts at the University.
“Bulldogs are always looking to raise the bar and reach new heights,” she said. “We’re eagerly preparing for this year’s campaign, and we look forward to partnering with our engaged community to further grow resources and support our incredible students.”
