Ferris State University women's volleyball standouts, sophomores Gabby Piazza  and Emily May have been named to the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association Honorable Mention All-America team for outstanding play this season.

The awards were announced Wednesday in conjunction with the NCAA Division II Elite Eight in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The 2025 All-Americans include 42 players—14 on the first, second, and third teams—from 26 schools, and 117 honorable mention selections.

Both Piazza, am Exercise Science major from Shorewood, Illinois, and May, a Marketing major from Coopersville, garnered All-America accolades for the first time in their careers and both were named to the 2025 AVCA All-Midwest Region Team.

Twenty six Bulldog student-athletes have now earned AVCA All-America honors. This year represents the 14th time in 15 years, outside of the 2021 spring COVID season, in which Ferris State has had at least one All-America student-athlete in volleyball.

The Bulldogs will square off against top-seeded and unbeaten Tampa in the national quarterfinals on Thursday with first serve set for 8 p.m. at the Sanford Pentagon.

With a win on Thursday in the quarterfinals, the Bulldogs would advance to the NCAA D2 National Semifinals and play the 8 p.m. match again on Friday, Dec. 12. The national championship match is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m.

This year marks the Bulldogs' second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.
