Commencement Regalia

Students who are eligible to receive an honor cord may pick up their honor cord from their college's Commencement Coordinator.

Please see the requirements for honors and contact your Commencement Coordinator with questions about your eligibility.

Students completing the requirements of the Honors Program wear an Honors Medallion at the graduation ceremony. The Medallion is distributed by the Honors Program Office.

Students completing the requirements of the Honors Program with an Associate degree wear cords in Ferris colors. The cords are distributed by the Honors Program Office.

Completion of the Honors program is announced verbally at Commencement and printed in the Commencement program.

Graduate and doctoral regalia includes a hood. Each college, and some programs, have specific hood colors.

Tassels will be included with your cap and gown. Each college (and some programs) have specific tassel colors.

Undergraduate students start the commencement ceremony wearing their tassel on the right side of their cap. They will be instructed when to move it to the left side of their cap during the ceremony.
