ID Card Protocol

To help fuel connections throughout our community and enhance the safety and security of our learning environment, KCAD provides all students and employees with a KCAD/Ferris ID card to be visibly displayed on their person at all times when on campus.

HOW TO GET AN ID CARD

If your ID is not visible, the KCAD Security Team will ask you to show it. If you still need to get your ID or do not have it with you, you may be delayed at the front desk while security personnel work with you to confirm that you are a current student or employee. In addition to making KCAD community members more visible to each other, ID cards also facilitate access to campus resource areas and events, both here at KCAD and on the main campus of Ferris State University in Big Rapids.

While portions of our campus are open to the public, many areas are restricted to official guests. Per our visitor check-in protocol, guests must be hosted by a KCAD employee or student, will be asked to sign in with security personnel, and will be asked to wear a visible visitor tag while on campus.

Each member of the KCAD community plays a pivotal role in fostering a safe and secure campus environment. Your vigilance and cooperation are appreciated and contribute significantly to our collective safety. Thank you for your support.

How do I get an ID card?

  3. Log in using your Ferris account credentials.
  4. Click "ID Request & Photo Upload" on the side navigation menu

Your first lanyard will be provided at time of pickup.

NOTE: Students and faculty/staff must upload a valid, government-issued photo ID in order to obtain a KCAD/Ferris ID Card. Your ID will be encrypted and stored on a secure server.
