About
Anne's teaching interests and research is in the history and interpretation of arts
of the United States from the seventeenth through the twentieth centuries, and the
history and criticism of modern art and culture. At KCAD Anne teaches the art history
survey, History of Graphic Design, History of American Illustration, Art of the United
States, Modern Art and Modernism, 18th century Art and Architecture, Art in the Age
of Revolution, Italian Renaissance Art, and special topics courses in American Art.
Anne has also taught numerous seminars with study-away trips, such as Expressionism
in Art (Germany and Austria), Italian Renaissance Workshops (Italy), Charles Rennie
Mackintosh & the Glasgow School (Scotland), and the Golden Age of Spanish Art (Spain).
Anne has served on national boards for the College Arts Association (CAA) and the
Visual Resource Association (VRA), and has chaired conference sessions at the CAA’s
annual conference and the Midwest Art History Society’s annual conference. She has
been a Fulbright Scholar Discipline reviewer for the past several years, and is the
College’s Advisor for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.
