Parking and Public Transit

With KCAD being located in a vibrant downtown area, it's a good idea to scope out your parking and public transit options before planning a visit to our campus or starting your first semester.

Visitor Parking

We recommend parking in the Grand Rapids City parking ramp located on the corner or Pearl St. and Ionia Ave, with the entrance located across the street from the Ionia Ave side of KCAD's 17 Fountain St. NW building.

Parking rates in this ramp are $2.00/half hour with a $24.00 daily maximum.

Student Parking

Paid City Parking Ramp at Pearl/Ionia

The nearest Grand Rapids City parking ramp is located on the corner or Pearl St. and Ionia Ave. The entrance is located across the street from the Ionia Ave side of KCAD's 17 Fountain St. NW building.

Parking rates in this ramp are $2.00/half hour with a $24.00 daily maximum.

Paid City Street Parking

The majority of street parking spaces in the downtown area are metered from 8:00am until 5:00 or 6:00pm, Mondays through Fridays. Students can pay for metered parking using the City's MOTU app.

Paid City Parking at Downtown Area Shuttle (DASH) Lots 7 and 9 (includes free shuttle between the lot and the KCAD campus area)

The free DASH bus line runs between designated paid city parking lots various stops throughout the downtown area. The closest stop to KCAD is located outside of the Tupelo Honey restaurant just one block from campus.

Cost to park is $4 (for DASH Lot 7) or $3 (for DASH Lot 9) for a full day.

Paid Parking at St. Mark's Episcopal Church

St. Mark's Episcopal Church offers students the option to park in the church's gated lot at 134 N Division Ave—right across the street from the KCAD campus—at a rate of $12.00 per day or $175 per month (if you park over 15 days in a month).
