Statement

As an artist and designer, I am drawn to the optical features of the Big Four gemstones: diamonds, rubies, sapphires, and emeralds - both natural and synthetic. Diamonds dazzle with unmatched brilliance, while rubies glow with fiery depth. Sapphires shift in rich, royal hues, and emeralds captivate with their lush, internal light. Whether all these valuable minerals are formed by nature or crafted in a laboratory, each gemstone interacts uniquely with light, revealing its own beauty. My work embraces both origins, celebrating how science and nature together shape the history, culture, colors, and radiance that define these timeless stones for generations.

What my time at KCAD meant to me

My valuable time at KCAD has well shaped me as a designer, teaching me to think critically about form, function, and meaning. Studying design has expertly deepened my understanding of aesthetics, materials, and innovation, especially in the world of jewelry. I have immensely learned to blend tradition with technology, embrace sustainability, and push creative boundaries. KCAD has exceptionally challenged me to see design as both an art and a problem-solving tool, preparing me to craft jewelry pieces that are not only beautiful and priceless, but also intentional and impactful.
