A. Purpose Statement


The purpose of this policy is to establish the responsibilities of students and the University regarding travel for university-sponsored events.

B. Policy


All University-Sponsored functions that involve travel away from campus require that the instructor/advisor/coach, or a person approved by the faculty member’s dean, be in attendance and responsible for individuals listed under “Student attending.” Under no circumstances may unlisted individuals participate in the sponsored function. The students in attendance should be excused from classes and are responsible for all work missed. Students must present a copy of the form to their instructors prior to leaving.

C. Audience


The intended audience for this policy is students and faculty.

D. Definitions


University-Sponsored Functions -Off campus academic activities or athletic events, projects, teaching, training, travel for students while accompanied by a Ferris faculty, staff or RSO advisor.

E. History


This policy supersedes the policy dated 8/30/2021.
