BIG RAPIDS, Mich. —

Ferris State University senior forward Chloe Idoni was named the Division II Women's Basketball National Player of the Week on Tuesday by the D2 II Conference Information Directors Association.

The Fenton native averaged 33.0 points per game in two wins for the Bulldogs, who moved up to No. 10 in the national poll this week.

Idoni scored 33 points against both Wisconsin-Parkside and Purdue Northwest this week.

She hit 11 of 19 shots from the field and two of four three-pointers against Parkside. Facing Purdue Northwest, she hit 14 of 19 shots and two of three from long range.

For the week, Idoni shot .658 from the field and .571 from the three, adding an 80 percent clip from the line to go with 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game.

The two wins helped Ferris State to a No. 2 seed in the upcoming GLIAC Tournament, which starts March 6 as Ferris State hosts Saginaw Valley State at 5:30 p.m. inside Jim Wink Arena.

Idoni is currently third in the league in scoring, fifth in field goal percentage, second in free throw percentage and ninth in rebounding.

Previously, she was chosen as this week's GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, marking the sixth time this year she's claimed either the league's offensive or defensive weekly award.
