The Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Program at Ferris State University is designed to accommodate the competing professional and personal demands of students. Unlike traditional Masters of Business of Administration programs, the unique structure of Ferris State's Masters of Business Administration program is compressed into a 7-week format. The core focus of the Masters of Business Administration program addresses the increase emphasis on organizational performance assessment and improvement. Using the Malcolm Baldrige criteria as a means of bringing to life performance management systems, the Masters of Business Administration courses provide graduates with the means of immediately making a contribution to the firms for whom they work.

The Ferris State University Masters of Business Administration program is conducted primarily in an on-line format. This provides busy students optimum flexibility while furthering their education. Additionally, the faculty bring an exceptional array of experience to the class. Business administration masters students earn extensive academic and practitioner experience, as well as relevant perspective derived from serving as examiners for assessment efforts such as Malcolm Baldrige and the Michigan Quality Council.

At Ferris, students enrolled in the Masters of Business Administration program can pursue an Advanced Studies Certificate in Management Tools and Concepts (ASTC). The Management Tools and Concepts certificate is designed to create process oriented business leaders that have robust exposure to global business and organizational sustainability concepts. Business administration masters students who choose this certificate learn the use of technical tools to aid in understanding business systems, developing improvement strategies, and leading and managing the change process.
Also part of the Masters of Business Administration at Ferris is the Advanced Studies Certificate in Design and Innovation Management (ASDI). The Design and Innovation Management certificate prepares MBA graduates for leadership positions in design-centered businesses. The program provides students a comprehensive understanding of the ways in which the method, measure, and language of design drive the practice of business and the process of innovation and teaches them how to cultivate and build a culture of innovation within their organization. This advanced certificate for Masters of Business Administration is offered at Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids.
The Masters of Business Administration degree programs at Ferris serve both working adults and full-time students, with the convenience of weekend, evening, and on-line courses. Business administration masters students may elect an internship opportunity as credit toward their Masters Business Administration degree. A grade of C or better is required for a class to count toward the Masters Business Administration degree. Business administration masters students must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or better to avoid dismissal from the MBA program. An overall GPA of 3.0 or better is required to earn the Masters of Business Administration degree.
Master of Science in Information Systems Management (MS-ISM) Concentrations
Business administration masters students may also select Advanced Study Certificates
in Security and Networking (ASSN), E-Business and Systems Integration (ASSI), or Business
Intelligence and Informatics (ASBI) from the MS-ISM program.
Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD)/MBA
Second year Doctorate of Pharmacy students meeting admission requirements and interested
in corporate pharmacy, health systems, or pharmaceutical industry careers may pursue
concurrent PharmD and Masters Business Administration degrees.
Five-year BS Accounting degree and MBA toward CPA
Junior year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy program majors may apply for fourth
and fifth year dual enrollment in Accountancy and Masters Business Administration.
Successful students earn their Bachelors, Masters, and satisfy the 150 minimum credit
hours required to practice as a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Master of Science Nursing (MSN) Concentrations
Business administration masters students who hold a RN license may select a 12 hour
concentration from the MSN program. MSN students may select a 12 hour Administration
Concentration from the MBA.
