How will I receive a student bill?
FSU provides the billing statements electronically to students and their authorized
users. The first electronic billing notification is sent about a month before the
semester begins to the FSU student email address and to the authorized user email
address on file. Any subsequent billing statements throughout the semester are sent
electronically monthly. Students, remember to set up authorized user access in E-bill
for those that would need access to your billing statement. This authorized user access
would allow others to receive monthly emails regarding your consolidated student tuition
bill, see the detailed statement, and pay online using a checking or savings account
or credit card. The consolidated student bill can include charges such as tuition,
room and board, books, parking permits, phone service, software charges, health center
charges, and library fines.
What are my payment options for the student bill?
Students have two options to pay their tuition and room and board charges at the beginning
of the semester. Students can pay the full balance of the charges that are due approximately
one week before classes begin each semester; or they can choose to pay 50% a week
before classes, 25% by the middle of the month following the beginning semester, and
the final 25% by the middle of the third month of the semester (there is a one-time
per semester $30 deferred payment charge for this option). For more detailed information
on payment options including due dates, visit the Student Account Payment Options
page.
Is there any incentive to paying my student bill in full?
Yes, you will not be charged the $30 deferred payment fee, which is the deferred payment
plan charge. Your semester bill must be paid in full before the beginning of classes.
Can I carry a balance on my student bill over to the next semester?
In order to register for the next semester, the student account balance must be below
$150. Also, keep in mind you may incur late fees if the balance is not paid by the
due date and a hold will be placed on your transcripts.
How do I pay a past due bill and get it credited quickly?
Any bill can be paid online via E-bill. You may use your checking or savings account
or credit card (MasterCard, Discover, Visa, or American Express). The payments will
be credited to the account immediately. Students, log into E-bill from your MyFSU
account and click on the “E-bill” link on the MyFSU tab. This will automatically log
you into the site. Authorized users, click on the “Quick Links” drop down box on the
FSU homepage and select "Payments Online/Ebill." Log in with the information sent
to you when access was granted to the account.
Why is a refund shown as a charge on my bill?
For a refund to be processed to zero out an account balance, it must be placed as
a charge on the student account. This charge creates the refund, whether direct deposit
or a check.
How can I pay my bill?
You may mail a check or money order with your student ID number in the memo line to
our Business Operations for processing. The address is Ferris State University Business
Operations, 1201 S. State St., CSS101PA, Big Rapids, MI 49307. You can also pay online
via E-bill by debiting your checking or savings account or by using a credit card
(MasterCard, Discover, Visa, or American Express). Students, log into E-bill from
your MyFSU account and click on the "E-bill" link on the MyFSU tab. This will automatically
log you into the site. Authorized users, click on the "Quick Links" drop down box
on the FSU homepage and select "Payments Online/Ebill." Log in with the information
sent to you when access was granted to the account. Payments by cash, check, or money
order can be made in person at the Timme Center for Student Services or Kendall Student
Services offices.
Will I be charged a late fee if my account is not paid in full?
Yes, a 2% late fee is assessed 2 times per semester for past due balances.
Are there any charges/fees that are optional or that I could get reimbursed?
Yes, there are 4 refundable fees (For more information, visit the Refunds - Student
Account Fees page) 1. Health Center - $47 2. Racquet Facility - $13 3. Student Activity
- $20 4. Student Government - $1
How can I estimate the expenses I will incur for the upcoming academic year?
Yearly expenses can be calculated by adding the following types of charges: tuition,
room and board, books, supplies, and miscellaneous expenses. For more information,
visit the tuition rates page and housing rates page.

Will Business Operations cash a check?
Checks can be cashed at the Timme Student Service Center for up to $100 providing

to FSU that were returned unpaid (NSF). Only one check may be cashed per day and the
student must present a valid Bulldog student ID card.
What if I need cash fast but have no access to get it?
Student Services at the Big Rapids campus will extend a $50 cash loan to students

3 cash advances a semester, but no more than once every thirty days and the previous
cash advance has been paid.
Are on-campus banking facilities available?
Students wishing to open a new Huntington account may do so at the Timme Student Service
Center during summer orientation, or at the local Big Rapids Huntington Branch, activating
the debit card features of a new Bulldog student identification card. This debit card
feature of the Bulldog student ID card can be used at local merchants. The new student
checking account allows students to receive student aid refunds electronically into
the account. Students also will benefit from a no-fee checking account and the ability
to complete banking transaction online through Huntington’s Web bank. A full-service
ATM is available in Rankin Center, as well as a withdrawal only machines in the Timme
Center for Student Services and Sports Complex. All ATMs are open during normal building
hours. Off-campus ATMs are also available for use.

E-Bill
How do I log into the E-bill site?
Students, log into your E-bill account from your MyFSU account. On the MyFSU tab,
click on the "E-bill" link. This will open a new browser and log into the E-bill account.
Authorized users, click on the “Quick Links” drop down box on the FSU homepage and
select "Payments Online/Ebill." Log in with the information sent to you when access
was granted to the account.
How will I be notified of an E-bill?
Students are sent an E-bill notification to their Ferris State student email. Authorized
users receive an email notification to their personal email account used for the authorized
user account.
How can I set up an authorized user on my student E-bill account?
First, students would log into your E-bill account from your MyFSU account. On the
MyFSU tab, click on the "E-bill" link. This will open a new browser and log into the
E-bill account. Then, students would click on the "Authorized Users" tab. Click on
the "Add Authorized User" button and complete the process. An email is sent immediately
to the authorized user with their ID, password, and website login information.
I don't want to pay the full amount. Can I change this?
When completing the steps to submit a payment, E-bill will allow you to enter the
amount you wish to pay. Confirm the appropriate amount in the final step when submitting
the payment.
Can I save a payment method to use at a later date?
You can save a electronic check payment method for future use. This would be saving
your bank account and routing number information. Unfortunately the PayPath site does
not allow credit card payment information to be saved for future use at this time.
I would like to pay my enrollment or orientation fee/deposit, but it is giving me
the wrong term. What do I do?
The term that shows on the screen is only the payment processing term used in-house.
If your enrollment will not begin the semester shown, it is not a problem. The deposit
will be held for the proper term of enrollment.
Why is FSU charging a convenience fee for the use of my credit card?
Due to increasing costs to process credit card transactions, FSU has contracted with
a third-party company, Touchnet PayPath, to provide credit card processing services
for consolidated student accounts. By contracting with PayPath, FSU can receive the
full amount of the payment and is no longer responsible for the processing fees. The
fee is being charged by the third-party processor, not FSU. This will provide nearly
$500,000 in annual savings for the University. For more information on the convenience
fee, visit the convenience fee page.
