Doctorate in Community College Leadership | Ferris State University

Our Mission
The Ferris State University Doctorate in Community College Leadership empowers graduates to advance community college toward excellence and community responsiveness through exemplary leadership.

Strategically Guide the Mission
The Ferris doctoral program was created for leaders of mission-driven, 21st century community colleges. Application-based and taught by academic faculty in partnership with experienced community college leaders, including presidents, this program is designed to prepare leaders for the changing environments in education. This inquiry-based, problem-solving, action-oriented approach is designed to develop the essential skills that will lead to success.

Courses cover areas including finance, technology, resource development, marketing, teaching and learning, policy, and leadership. A key feature of the program is that the dissertation may take any of four forms and will be integrated throughout the three-year program with a goal to have individuals complete the dissertation by the end of the three years of the program.
