Bulldog Beginnings 2016
Ferris State University is gearing up for the return of students to campus with Bulldog
Beginnings, a series of important dates, educational events and fun activities to
start the Fall 2016 semester.
Bulldog Beginnings features opportunities for students to meet fellow students, enjoy free food, opportunities to win prizes, live music and more.
The week also focuses on Ferris pride, Bulldog Values, the University's Mission/Core Values, the many campus resources available to students and more. Mostly, the week focuses on fun.
Check below for key early Fall 2016 dates related to Bulldog Beginnings and the start of the semester.
|Friday, Aug. 26||
7:30 to 9 P.M.
Top Taggart Field
An official address to Ferris students will be held by Ferris dignitaries. President Eisler and other high-ranking officials will be present to show students what it means to be a Bulldog.
Residence Hall Association Movie -- Captain America: Civil War
“Captain America: Civil War” will be played in the South Quad, outside of The Rock. Entertainment is provided by the Residence Hall Association. Bringing a tarp or towel is recommended for your comfort.

Big Rapids Beginnings
3 to 6 P.M.
Downtown Big Rapids
Join a fun time in downtown in Big Rapids. Explore multiple venues and enjoy the services that the community has to offer. Shuttle transportation will be provided to local businesses downtown.
7 to 10 P.M.
Come out for special events, giveaways, and bargains, hosted by Meijer. Shuttle transportation is provided to and from Meijer from campus.
Late Night Event in the University Center
9 P.M. to 12 A.M. (Midnight)
The University Center will have various events going on throughout the night.

VIP in the UC
2 to 5 P.M.
The University Center will host multiple events through the afternoon.
Residence Hall Programming
All residence halls
Resident Advisors will be putting on a variety of different programs throughout the day. For specific information, please contact your resident advisor.

7:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M.
There will be strategically placed tents around campus to help students looking for information.
5 to 8 P.M.
Student Recreation Center
The Rec Center will be having an open house. Come enjoy free giveaways and festivities.

Social Fest Snapchat Challenge
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A Snapchat photo and video contest will take place for all students to participate. The filters will be available in selected campus locations, for participation. Winners in photography and video categories will win prizes. More details will be announced at a later date closer to the event.
Entertainment Unlimited: Throwback Time Machine
Entertainment Unlimited is hosting a dance party that will transport the audience back in time, to the beginnings of pop music and take them through its evolution right up to the present day.

Academic Support Center Open House
8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M.
Arts and Science Commons
The Academic Support Center will have an open house to allow students to learn what the Academic Support Center has to offer them.

Bulldog Football hosts Ohio Dominican
Top Taggart Field
Ferris will be hosting a football game against Ohio Dominican University. FSU students get in free with their ID. Tickets prices for others are as follows: $14 (Adults), $12 (Seniors 65+), $8 (K-12 Students).
The Fifth Quarter
Top Taggart Field
Stay after the football game for a fun-packed night. Watch as the field becomes a dance floor. DJ and festivities will be present.

2 to 4 P.M.
FLITE (Ferris Library for Information Technology and Education)
The FLITE Library will be a competitive field on Friday. Come to FLITE to play some indoor disc golf.
