This scholarship fund was established through the gifts of KCAD alumni and friends to provide essential financial support for KCAD undergraduate and graduate levels. Every gift to grow this scholarship fund makes an immediate impact, providing additional scholarship support to KCAD students with demonstrated financial need

KCAD welcomes gifts for specific programs or areas of the college. These funds are used to support needs that are specific to a program of study or area of the college as designated by the donor. Gifts of appreciated property (securities) held for more than a year may be deductible, based on the fair market value of the gift, for up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income with no capital gains tax on the appreciation. Gifts of appreciated property such as real estate can have tax benefits to the donor. Please call 231-591-2365 for more information about making a gift of property.

Gifts of items such as equipment and educational materials are often welcomed if the items are needed and usable by the college or can be easily sold to support the college. If you are interested in donating items to the college please email the following information to [email protected].

• Donor stated value of the item or items

Once a request is received the college will review the request and advise if the college is able to accept the proposed in-kind gift. Please note: the college will not accept any art supplies or materials that are considered hazardous. You as the donor are responsible for transporting the gift to KCAD and any associated costs for transportation, unless waived by the college. If the donor stated value exceeds $5,000 it is recommended that you consult with your tax advisor to determine if you should seek proof of market value and/or an appraisal in advance of making the donation.

Overview

As an innovator in art and design education, KCAD cultivates a student-centered learning community that fuels the regional economy with creative leaders and critical thinkers with global perspectives. We do this through a strong curriculum as well as through unique partnerships. We look forward to celebrating these future leaders this spring through our physical and online Annual Student Exhibition.

This exhibition is a unique experience for KCAD students, marking a significant milestone for our graduates and the culmination of several years of intense focus and dedication. This year’s Annual Student Exhibition will open from April 29 through May 4, 2024. A rotation of Master’s Thesis exhibitions will also take place throughout the academic year.

Reach

KCAD anticipates over 2,000 people to visit campus to view these exhibitions with another 4,000 viewing the exhibitions online. To support engagement, KCAD does the following:

• Closing reception for the general public, students, student supporters, college employees, prospective students, potential employers, and alumni (1,000+ attendees).
• Online marketing to drive unique viewers in KCAD’s target demographics to view the online exhibition.
• Media releases to various media outlets.
  
  

While these exhibitions are on display, KCAD’s campus is open for public viewing. We anticipate that over 1,000 additional guests will visit campus either on their own or as part of an organized tour group during this time. These guests are typically alumni, potential employers, prospective students, and student supporters.

KCAD’s Annual Student Exhibition will once again include a KCAD exhibition of work at the Forest Hills Fine Arts Center, which serves as the college’s Commencement venue. The Forest Hills Fine Arts Center, a 62,000 square foot LEED-certified facility, provides a unique environment for year-round learning opportunities and staged performances in all aspects of the performing and visual arts.

This exhibition will be on display and open to the public from May 2 - May 10, 2024. KCAD anticipates that this exhibition will be viewed by more than 5,000 guests attending events at the Fine Arts Center in addition to the 2,000 guests expected to attend KCAD’s commencement ceremony.
