Statement

As a designer, I am deeply interested in the intersection of fashion, culture, and digital influence. My work explores how social media reshapes not only how we consume fashion but how we perceive identity, trends, and sustainability. Platforms like Instagram and TikTok have transformed fast fashion from a seasonal cycle to an endless scroll, creating both opportunities and challenges for designers, consumers, and the environment.

My creative process is grounded in research, observation, and dialogue with the digital world. I approach design as both an artistic expression and a social commentary, balancing aesthetics with intention. I am drawn to minimalist, yet emotionally resonant visuals that mirror the fast-paced yet fleeting nature of online fashion culture. Through my work, I aim to raise questions about authenticity, influence, and the role of design in shaping a more responsible future for fashion.

I believe design is a language that can both reflect and reshape society, and I am committed to using this language to advocate for thoughtful consumption and ethical creativity.

What my time at KCAD meant to me

My time at Kendall College of Art and Design has been a defining chapter both personally and professionally. When I first arrived, I came with curiosity and a love for design - but I leave with a stronger sense of self, a sharpened creative voice, and a deeper understanding of the role design plays in shaping culture, behavior, and social responsibility.

KCAD challenged me to move beyond surface-level thinking and aesthetic trends and pushed me to explore the "why" behind every creative choice. Through research, critique, and collaboration, I've learned to view design as a tool for communication - not just decoration. This shift has helped me connect my passion for fashion and social media to larger questions about ethics, sustainability, and influence in the modern world.

One of the most meaningful parts of my journey has been learning to embrace process over perfection. I've learned that growth often happens in the space between ideas - in the uncomfortable, uncertain moments where creativity is stretched and redefined. KCAD gave me a community of mentors and peers who encouraged curiosity, celebrated experimentation, and reminded me that vulnerability is essential to creative success.

Looking forward, I know the lessons I've learned here will guide me through every project, collaboration, and career pivot. I want to continue using design not just to create, but to advocate - to explore the impact of digital spaces on fast fashion and push for conversations about ethical consumption, transparency, and thoughtful storytelling.

KCAD gave me the foundation and the courage to approach the world as both an artist and a problem-solver, and I'm excited to carry that mindset into the next chapter of my life and work.
