The Bette Patrick and Thelma McCrackin Memorial Scholarship

The Bette Patrick and Thelma McCrackin Memorial Scholarship was established in 2021 by KCAD President Tara McCrackin and her husband John McCrackin in remembrance of their mothers Bette Patrick and Thelma McCrackin. The purpose of this scholarship is to support those students who demonstrate how they serve or aspire to serve as a leader in their discipline, in the community, or at KCAD.

Eligibility:

• The recipient must be a full or part-time undergraduate student enrolled at Kendall College of Art and Design
• Minimum 2.50 GPA at the time of application
• Preference shall be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need via the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form
• Applicants must submit a 400-500 word essay that demonstrates how they serve or aspire to serve as a leader through their creative practice and/or through their involvement in the community around them. This may include how their leadership benefits the environment or people locally, regionally, or beyond. Applicants should demonstrate a passion for this work and recognize the value of their efforts in their response. 

Recipients are eligible to receive this scholarship for a total of four years as long as they continue to meet the defined scholarship criteria and are making satisfactory progress toward a degree.

To apply you must be accepted into a KCAD degree-granting program.
