Biography

Rod joined the Ferris community in October 2008 as a part-time Computer Help Desk Technician at the Ferris Library for Information Technology and Education (FLITE). Rod eventually moved into a full-time position as the Library Technology Coordinator, providing additional technology support for the library as well as supporting the PaperCut Print Management operation used, not only at FLITE but in several other labs on campus.

Rod's duties shifted once again and, while still providing limited technology support for the library, his duties have become more administrative as he now works for the FLITE and University College Dean's Office, providing administrative support and taking on additional responsibilities in facility coordination and safety & security, becoming the primary Building Emergency Coordinator (BEC) for FLITE and chairing the FLITE Safety Committee. Rod also supervises a staff of Library Security Assistants to further promote safety and security in the library after hours.

In all of his "spare" time, Rod enjoys the outdoors and spending time on his homestead, tending his vegetable gardens, or performing various leisurely projects on the property.
