Profile

Heather Symon Bassett is the Life Sciences Librarian at Ferris State University's Library for Information, Technology and Education (FLITE). She serves as a liaison librarian to the  the Department of Biological Sciences and Psychology Department, assisting with collection management, research support, outreach and instruction for faculty and students. Heather also provides general research support and instruction services as a member of the Research & Instruction Services Team at FLITE. Heather has professional experience in both public and academic libraries. Her early career experience in social services cemented an interest in helping others and she enjoys assisting students and faculty in meeting information needs.

When not at the library, Heather enjoys pursuing interests including fishing, kayaking, reading, participating in a writer's group, spending time with family and learning about Native American history.
