Profile

Hallie Pritchett serves as Director of the University Libraries and Archives. In this capacity, Hallie leads operations in Big Rapids and Grand Rapids.

Prior to arriving at Ferris, she served as Associate Dean of Libraries for Research and Learning at North Dakota State University (NDSU) as well as Interim Dean of Libraries. At NDSU, Hallie managed the research and learning efforts of the Libraries and led or was directly involved in projects and initiatives to improve, enrich, and expand resources, services, and spaces for students, faculty, and staff; the most significant of these were implementing a content management system to improve access to Special Collections materials, and leading the efforts to create and secure funding for new services and resources to support digital scholarship. As Interim Dean, she provided managerial leadership of NDSU Libraries and led the efforts to update the Libraries' strategic plan to bring it into alignment with the university's new strategic plan.

Before relocating to North Dakota, Hallie was Head of the Map and Government Information Library at the University of Georgia, where she had the rare opportunity to design, establish, and staff one of the largest academic libraries dedicated to maps and government information in the country. Her responsibilities at UGA also included serving as the regional coordinator for Georgia’s twenty-two selective Federal Depository Libraries, which make federal government information freely available to the public as part of a national network of academic, public, and state libraries. As Georgia's regional Federal Depository Library Program coordinator, Hallie served as consultant on all aspects of the program and acted as Georgia’s liaison with the U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO), which administers the program. As a department head, Hallie also participated in general UGA Libraries administration by serving on the Department Heads Group and participating in the development and evaluation of policies and services.

In addition to serving on numerous library and university committees at UGA and NDSU, Hallie has an extensive record of local, regional and national service with various library associations, having chaired the Depository Library Council to the Director, U.S. Government Publishing Office and two American Library Association Round Tables, and served as the Permanent Executive Secretary of the Georgia Library Associations' Government Information Interest Group.
