Profile

Rodney (Rod) has been described by several of his colleagues as the "Swiss Army Knife" of the FLITE library as his duties vary greatly from day to day. He works to ensure that FLITE's various technologies are working properly, including nearly 200 classroom and public computers within the library. He also reviews and approves the numerous online reservation requests for FLITE's instructional studios and seminar rooms.

Rod is the primary Building Emergency Coordinator for the FLITE building and manages FLITE's safety and security programs. He also coordinates many of the day-to-day operations in the building and works closely with Facilities Management to ensure the FLITE building is a safe and pleasant environment for its patrons.

Rod has recently taken on additional administrative duties, assisting the FLITE and University College Dean's Office, and was recently appointed to oversee student employment operations within the library. Rod serves on several committees and works to remain engaged with evolving trends to help keep the library relevant in an ever-changing academic environment. 

Outside of the library,  Rod can often be found tending to his vegetable gardens, working on various projects in his workshop, or simply relaxin in the woods with a good book.
