Viola Liuzzo, Civil Rights Martyr

***The staff of the Jim Crow Museum receives dozens of letters and emails. Some of these communiques offer insight into race relations -- historically and in the present. While some are hateful, we have decided to share some of these letters and emails with our Internet visitors.***

Dear Mr. Pilgrim,

I just finished watching the video of the 2010 Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration at Ferris State. I wanted to take a moment to personally thank you for telling my mother's story. For so many years she was forgotten by many, and thanks to people like you, her memory is now being kept alive. Bless you for all that you do.

p.s. - My mom has a memorial page on Facebook called Viola Liuzzo Civil Rights Martyr. Some of the older posts on her page are personal family stories, it has now evolved into inspirational quotes in line with my mom's values and beliefs.

Kindest Regards,

Sally Liuzzo-Prado
