The major expansion and renovation of the Swan Annex is in the final phases of construction. The new space will allow for substantial enrollment growth, transforming the labs to double their size and significantly improving their use for manufacturing-related programs such as welding engineering technology, manufacturing engineering technology, CAD drafting and tool design, mechanical engineering technology, automotive engineering technology and rubber and plastics. In Fall 2018, the College of Engineering Technology will launch the new Center for Welding Excellence and Center for Advanced Manufacturing, expanding opportunities for students and the industry partners who hire them.

The $31.6 million project consists of a University investment of $1.6 million in the planning and rendering phase, $22.5 million from State appropriations and $7.5 million in resources from partnerships with industry, foundations, alumni and friends who recognize and benefit from these distinctly impactful Ferris programs. Make an investment in our students and industry with a gift to the Swan Annex Renovation and Expansion and become a part of this historical transformation for our Ferris’ manufacturing-related programs.
