3 Steps to Apply

If you have not completed 12 college credits or more, you must send in your official high school transcript (or recognized equivalent, such as a GED).

In addition, you must send in a transcript from every college or university you have attended, whether you earned credits or not.

You do not need to send a transcript for any previous coursework completed at Ferris.

The best place to start is your high school's website. They should have instructions for requesting a transcript. 

Electronically 

Transcripts can be sent electronically from the issuing school through a credentialing service such as Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse. Transcripts can also be emailed by the issuing institution to [email protected].

Mailed

Documents can be mailed to the address below.

You may also deliver you transcript in-person to your nearest Ferris office. Make sure to keep your transcript sealed in the original envelope it came in! If your transcript is opened, we can no longer consider it official.

GED Transcripts: GED transcripts may be sent electronically using the GED website to [email protected].

Start at the website for the school's registrar or records office. If you have trouble finding a link to request your transcript, contact your previous institution.

You may need to send in your ACT or SAT scores if you do not meet one of the below conditions. 

• You have completed 60 or more college credits
• You have an associate degree or higher
• You are an international student

If you have no completed college-level English or Math, you are strongly encouraged to submit ACT or SAT scores for placement purposes.

In order to receive credit for CLEP and AP tests, you must send us your official score reports. Reports may be used to place you into appropriate courses and determine equivalencies.

Some Ferris programs may have specific score requirements.

Due to COVID-19, we are currently reviewing applications without test scores. We will process applications without ACT or SAT scores once your high school transcript is received.

For standardized tests, including the SAT, CLEP, and AP, visit CollegeBoard.org for instructions. Ferris State University's school code is 1222. 

If you need to submit your ACT scores, head to ACT.org. You'll find step-by-step instructions on sending in your scores. Our school code is 1994.

If your program has special admission requirements, we will reach out to you via email with instructions on submitting them. Make sure to check the inbox of the email address you used to apply!

When completing your application, you will be asked questions about any incidents of misconduct or criminal offense. 

Don't worry! You will not be automatically disqualified from admission. Each case is reviewed individually. Watch the email you used to apply for additional steps, which may include:

• Consent to and submission of payment ($25) for a criminal background check.
• Submission of a brief explanation of the incident(s), including approximate date, circumstances and all sentencing elements (fines, periods of jail/prison time, probation or parole) to [email protected]. 

The University may ask for additional information from you related to any incident of misconduct or criminal offense.
