Dr. Daniel Taylor received his OD from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2006, and then completed a Primary Care Optometry Fellowship from that institution in 2008, while simultaneously earning his MS in Cancer and Cell Development Biology from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center that same year. In 2016, he completed his Ed.D. in Instructional Design and Technology, from the University of Memphis.
Dr. Taylor’s research interests include thoughtful, evidence-based implementation of teaching technology and techniques in optometric education settings. He has been the Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs at Michigan College of Optometry since September of 2017. Prior to that, he taught human anatomy, ocular anatomy, neuroanatomy, genetics and epigenetics, and primary care optometry at Southern College of Optometry.
Dr. Taylor is a member of the American Optometric Association and Michigan Optometric Association. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry and a diplomate of the American Academy of Optometry in Optometric Education.
Dr. Taylor resides in Big Rapids with his wife and two children.
