The Keynote Speaker for the 2015 Hooding Ceremony will be Dr. Kevin Alexander, former Dean of MCO and current President of Marshall B. Ketchum University. Click here to view Dr. Alexander's bio.

Important (Guest/Family Accommodations):

Since the MCO ceremony occurs on the same weekend as Ferris State University's Commencement, the town of Big Rapids becomes a very busy place. It is strongly recommended to book hotels as early as possible to ensure availability.

Graduates:

Please make sure you have filled out your state license forms: Instructions for State License - NPI - DEA

Regalia: MCO placed an order for your regalia through the FSU Barnes and Noble Bookstore based on information you gave prior to your leaving campus on your first rotation. You may contact the bookstore at 231-591-2607 and pay for your regalia via telephone if you need your regalia shipped to you. Or, you may purchase your regalia when you are here on campus for Capstone Seminar. Please note: You will be using your regalia for both the hooding ceremony and commencement events. Michelle Aldrich has all of your hoods and they will be pressed and ready for the Hooding Ceremony.

Hooding Ceremony: There will be a mandatory rehearsal at 3:30 PM at Williams Auditorium. You will then need to return to the auditorium no later than 6:15 PM. Your family and friends are welcome to come with you at that time and there will be live music in the auditorium from 6:00-7:00. You are not limited on the number of guests you can invite. The ceremony will begin at 7:00 and should last somewhere between 60-90 minutes. Immediately following the ceremony you will gather as a class back on the stage for a class photo.

Hooding Ceremony Reception: Following the ceremony at Williams, there will be a reception in your honor at the Holiday Inn. You and your guests will be treated to heavy hors d’oeuvres, soft drinks, coffee and punch. There will be a cash bar open at the reception if you would like to purchase alcoholic beverages.

Special Accommodations for Hooding & Reception: If anyone in your party requires special accommodations, please contact Michelle Aldrich at 231-591-3700 or [email protected] at least two days prior to event.

Commencement: This ceremony will be on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Ewigleben Ice Arena/Sports Complex/Wink Arena. You will need to arrive no later than 8:15 AM and report to the designated area of the ice arena for staging. There will be signage indicating the MCO area. Additional information can be found on the FSU Commencement web site.

E-Tickets: FSU will no longer distribute hard copy tickets. They have moved to an electronic ticketing process. Please see the FSU E-Tickets page for instructions. You are limited to six tickets per participating graduate.

Special Accommodations for Commencement: If you, or anyone in your party require special accommodations, please contact the Commencement office at least two weeks prior to the event by calling 231-591-3803.
