Pancakes with The President a Sweet Complement to Finals Week Studies Tuesday, Dec. 13

Pancakes with the President

The Pancakes with the President event will give Ferris State University students a break from 2022 Fall final exam studies on Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 8 to 10 p.m. in The Rock Café.

The Ferris State University President’s Office is collaborating with the Division of Student Affairs and the Student Government Association in presenting the traditional “Pancakes with the President” event early during exam week on Tuesday, Dec. 13, from 8 to 10 p.m. in The Rock Café.

Student Government President MaeLynn Huhn, a Psychology student from Portland, said the format of Pancakes with the President has changed slightly to accommodate students and staff better.

“We found 8 to 10 p.m. was the best time for this event,” Huhn said. “This schedule respects a student’s need to keep up with studies and get adequate rest for the remainder of their exam schedule.”

Beyond the pancakes with a variety of syrups, toppings and a side of sausage available to students, the event also features ice cream and a toppings bar that evening.

“President Bill Pink is looking forward to his first time serving these treats and meeting students as he joins Vice President for Student Affairs Jeanine Ward-Roof and myself putting on aprons and wearing serving gloves,” Huhn said. “I am glad to have the support of other members of the Student Government Executive Board and campus departments in continuing this traditional event.”

Huhn added, “There will also be a photo backdrop for students wishing to make a note of their participation, where all Ferris students are welcome to enjoy the opportunity to relax and come together with others in the campus community.”

Fall 2022 commencement ceremonies occur at the end of exam week on Saturday, Dec. 17, in Jim Wink Arena of the Ewigleben Sports Complex. The ceremonies are at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
