Ferris State University has announced that its December 2020 commencement ceremonies will be virtual due to an inability to safely host a large indoor event during the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision was made consistent with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and state of Michigan guidelines.
Ferris plans to host its December commencement ceremonies, to close the Fall 2020 semester, on Saturday, Dec. 19. Ceremonies are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. This semester's commencement will feature musical selections and recorded messages from the Board of Trustees, the provost, the academic college deans and select alumni.
Additional details for ordering caps and gowns, diploma frames, alumni pins and more, will be made public in November.
This announcement was earlier communicated to students via email and is available on the commencement website.
