Many of the students who have qualified to graduate from Ferris State University at the end of the Spring 2020 semester are expected to participate in the biannual Grad Fair on Tuesday, March 24. The event will be hosted in the University Center ballroom from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Assistant Director of Alumni Relations Ben Withey said the Commencement Office and the Ferris State Bookstore co-sponsor the event in collaboration with Student Alumni Gold Club members.
“We expect around 1,000 students to come by during the fair,” Withey said. “Some of our partners and vendors who will participate in the fair include Herff Jones, Liberty Mutual Insurance and the Ferris State Copy Center. It is our goal to provide the information and resources these students need to move on to commencement and enter their careers.”
Withey said that each of the university’s colleges will have representatives available to offer exit counseling and provide information on graduate programs.
“We strive to make the students’ Grad Fair experience valuable and enjoyable,” Withey said. “Caps and gowns can be purchased; commencement ticket information will be available and Career Services staff can review resumes on site. There will be giveaways throughout the event. Ferris’ mascot, Brutus, will be on hand to pose for photos, and graduates can create their own video message, which will be shown prior to their commencement ceremony.”
The News Services and Social Media Team in University Advancement and Marketing has again collaborated with Alumni Relations to host the Commencement Cap Photo Challenge, where winners of that competition receive a diploma frame or other prizes.
