Ferris, FNTFO Approve Contract Extension Agreement

BIG RAPIDS – The Ferris State University Board of Trustees ratified a four-year extension of the current collective bargaining agreement with the Ferris Nontenure-Track Faculty Organization (FNTFO) on Monday, Feb. 10. This agreement includes the possibility of a 5th year extension beginning July 1, 2024, along with continued annual increases in health insurance, an increase in the overload rate and funding for professional development.

The FNTFO’s current five-year contract was set to expire June 30, 2020.

“We are pleased to reach this contract extension,” said Mary Bacon, FNTFO president. “By a unanimous vote, the non-tenure track faculty represented by our union recommended ratification of the contract extension, and we look forward to continuing our work at the University,” added Bacon.

University President David Eisler thanks the FNTFO for their work at the University and their willingness to work together to reach this agreement.

“We are grateful to have reached this contract extension with our non-tenure track faculty,” said Eisler. “This is a direct result of concerted efforts to extend the current agreement before it expired this June. In doing so we saved considerable investments of time and effort. It is a pleasure to have signed this agreement in this fashion.”
