Summer Internship: Andri Stephanie

Ferris State University students gain valuable work experience through internships. Internships also can confirm or redirect career decision-making, provide marketability, develop people skills and enhance classroom learning. Many academic programs require one, but the experience is encouraged regardless to provide students with a better understanding of what will be expected of them in the workplace.

Many students are participating in internships this summer. Meet:

Andri StephanieAndri Stephanie

She is: a senior in Heavy Equipment Service Engineering Technology from Jakarta, Indonesia, who will graduate in Spring 2020.

Her Internship: is with Diesel Injection Services in Grand Rapids. “I am learning more specifics about fuel injection pumps from many brands and companies. I’m learning everything I can about these devices.”

Was Ferris Helpful In Securing her Internship: “The university, especially my advisor, Darren Wilson, helped me get through searching for the company to approach for my internship, then helped me apply, interview, and start the process, I got so much help.”

Future Plans: “I hope this company is satisfied with my work performance and considering me as their next employee.”

Previous Internships: “This is my first internship during my time at Ferris, I completed two internships while I studied at State Polytechnic of Jakarta.”

Advice for Students Considering Internships: “Apply to as many as companies that you can find, don’t approach only one or two companies. When you find one and get accepted, give them your best performance. Don’t be shy to ask your internship employer about anything that you don’t understand.”
