
Ferris State University ranked in the top five among Michigan’s public universities in return on investment. That was among the findings from a Georgetown University study of federal data highlighted by Bridge Magazine.
>The analysis, based on U.S. Department of Education scorecard data, shows estimates of a lifetime return on investment for college and university students nationwide who invest in higher education.
>Bridge Magazine charted how Michigan’s public universities stacked up, in ROI, after 10, 20, 30 and 40 years. Ferris ranked fifth at $115K, after 10 years; $450K, after 20; $724K, after 30; and $949K, after 40 years. Michigan Tech University ranked first, followed by the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, Michigan State University and the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
Bridge Magazine also had charts that offered comparisons of Michigan’s community colleges and private colleges and universities.
