Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Paul Blake has announced the appointments
of Lincoln Gibbs and Richard Goosen as interim deans of Ferris State University’s
colleges of Health Professions and Engineering Technology, respectively.
“Both Rich and Lincoln bring energy with them to their new roles,” Blake said. “I very much look forward to working with them in their new positions.”
Gibbs and Goosen were named interim deans before the retirements of Matthew Adeyanju, dean of the College of Health Professions, and Larry Schult, dean of the College of Engineering Technology. Adeyanju began his duties as dean of CHP, in July 2012, arriving from Ohio University, and Schult was appointed to lead the CET, in December 2013, having become a member of that college’s faculty, in 1994. Adeyanju and Schult began their retirements in early July 2018.
Gibbs has been the associate dean of the College of Health Professions since he arrived
from Salisbury University, in Maryland, in Summer 2016. Goosen most recently served
as director of the School of Design and Manufacturing, in the College of Engineering
Technology, and has coordinated university programs and held various faculty roles
since arriving at Ferris in 1993. Goosen was named Ferris’ Distinguished Teacher,
in 2010.
