Comedian Jen Kober to Entertain Jan. 12 in University Center Ballroom

Ferris State UniversityAward-winning comedian and actress Jen Kober brings her stand-up routine to Ferris State University’s University Center ballroom Friday, Jan. 12 at 8 p.m., in a free performance as part of the Spring Welcome programming, presented by Entertainment Unlimited.

Activities Coordinator Nick Smith, from the Center for Leadership, Activities and Career Services, said staff and EU students saw Kober perform at a National Association of Campus Activities regional conference, during the fall, and were excited to add her to their January event schedule.

“Jen had been to campus to perform earlier in the decade and put on a most-entertaining show at that time,” Smith said. “We know anyone who attended that performance, and all current students who enjoy fresh and topical humor, are in for lots of laughs on Friday night.”

Kober, a Memphis native who lives in Lake Charles, Louisiana, received the Comedic Performance of the Year award, in 2016, from National Public Radio’s “Snap Judgement” program, for her Girl Scout Cookie story. Her movie credits include 2012’s “American Reunion,” and 2013’s “Grudge Match” and “Paranoia.” Kober has performed roles in a number of television situation comedies, including HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “The Mindy Project” on FOX and ABC’s “The Middle.”

Smith said the facility can accommodate an audience of several hundred students for the Friday-evening show.

“Make plans to join us on the 12th, Jen is a great entertainer,” Smith said. “Bring your friends and roommates and enjoy the free show.”

Anyone with a disability who requires assistance to attend this event can contact CLACS by calling (231) 591-2685 or emailing their office at least 72 hours in advance of the performance.
