Ferris State University's Corporate and Professional Development Center has awarded
certificates to several employees of Reed City Group, an injection-molding company
based in Osceola County, signifying their completion of a technology training program.
Professor of Plastics and Rubber Engineering Technology Stephen Wolfer said CPD has a collaborative relationship with Michigan Works! West Central, based in Big Rapids and Going PRO Talent Funds were provided by the state of Michigan’s Talent Investment Agency, through the Workforce Development operation to support the workers’ studies.
“The Reed City Group employees engaged in numerous activities and should be proud of their accomplishments as a result of completing this rigorous training,” Wolfer said. “Their newly-acquired understanding of technologies and processes will result in improved quality and productivity.”
Shanee Ramsey was the CPD project coordinator involved with the Reed City Group training
and said each staff member in the program received 24 hours of instruction in the
basics of plastic materials, injection molds, injection molding machines and identifying
